The Key to Better Health and Beauty for Men & Women? Collagen!

The Skin Enrich® Story

Skin Enrich® is an innovator of premium collagen supplements with science-backed formulas. But it wasn’t science that inspired us to create our brand; it was a simple conversation with a family member.

That relative, a doctor, revealed that the secret to her fabulous skin was the food she ate. Her diet included lots of collagen-rich foods, like fish (especially fish skin), grass-fed bone broth, citrus fruits, and dark leafy greens such as kale, spinach and algae. These foods help the body produce collagen, which is essential for healthy, supple skin and joints.

However, collagen production naturally slows as we age. Lifestyle factors like smoking, sun exposure, and a high-sugar diet also deplete collagen levels. It’s vital to boost those levels if we want to stay healthy, but with our busy lives, it can be hard to eat a collagen-rich diet.

The Solution We Created

This is where the science comes in. We began researching collagen, its properties, and its benefits. We wanted to develop an easy but effective way for people to consume collagen and stay healthy. Finally, in 2017, we established Skin Enrich and launched our premium liquid collagen supplements.

With our lifestyle-friendly supplements, we’re making skin and joint care as simple as that initial, inspiring conversation. Collagen is the key to better health and beauty; Skin Enrich is the proof.

Why Should You Choose Skin Enrich’s Liquid Collagen Supplements?

Take Care of Your Skin
Our liquid collagen supplements help improve your skin’s natural elasticity, slow the signs and effects of ageing, and keep your skin looking healthy and hydrated all day long.

Take Care of Your Health
Increasing your collagen intake helps relieve joint pain, speeds up the healing process after muscle strain and injury, and can reduce the risk of heart issues in the future.

Fast Absorption Rate
Compared to ingesting collagen in pill/tablet format, our liquid collagen supplements are absorbed quickly and easily, which means faster and more noticeable results!

Safe and Science-Backed Formula
Each of our skincare products and liquid collagen supplements has been rigorously tested to make sure that they’re safe, effective and easy to use.

Product Quality and Safety Assurance
Skin Enrich® supplements are scientifically formulated by our European Manufacturers. They adhere to the guidelines of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP). These are defined for pharmaceutical factories for the various production stages and their associated inspection system. GMP guidelines are designed to ensure the safety and quality of products; all our company’s operations are covered by them. The observation of GMP is supervised by the National Agency for Medicines in Germany.

Our manufacturer’s product development and achievement of quality control targets are guided by the specific Scientific Advisory Board. Members of the Board are internationally recognised experts from specific fields including botany, organic chemistry, pharmaceutical technology, medicine and nutrition. Quality control is central to production from the initial development process through to the packaged end result

What is Collagen?

Collagen is a protein found in the skin, muscles, bones, connective tissues, blood vessels and digestive system. It is the most abundant protein in the human body, making up 25% of the total proteins. It is also the most plentiful substance in the body after water. Collagen benefits for skin include optimal elasticity and tone, as well as replacement of dead skin cells. We also need collagen for joints to ensure proper pain-free function.

Collagens in the human body are strong and flexible, consisting of 19 amino acids with high levels of glycine, proline and hydroxyproline. Our bodies contain 20 types of collagen; 80-90% of them are categorised as Types 1, 2 and 3. The different types have different structures and functions. Types 1 and 3 are primarily found in the skin, tendons, ligaments and bones. Type 2 is a major component of joint cartilage.

This overview explains the different types and the main collagen benefits:

  • Type 1: The most abundant and the strongest type of collagen. It is made up of eosinophilic fibres that form skin, organs, tendons, ligaments and bones. It is also found in the gastrointestinal tract. It is essential for wound healing, maintaining skin elasticity, and binding tissue together to prevent tearing
  • Type 2: Primarily helps to build cartilage (located in connective tissues) by copying its profile using a combination of 18 amino acids. We need cartilage and collagen for joint health to help prevent age-related joint pain and arthritis
  • Type 3: Made of reticular fibres and is a major component of the extracellular matrix that makes up the skin and organs. It is usually found with Type 1 and so helps give skin its firmness and elasticity. It also forms blood vessels and heart tissues, which is why a deficiency is linked to a higher risk of ruptured blood vessels and early death
  • Types 1 & 3 and Type 2 should not be combined due to their differing amino acid profiles. If taken together, they will bind and form a complete protein which the body does not recognise as collagen

What Does Collagen Do?

Collagen benefits us by giving the skin strength and elasticity, replacing dead skin cells, and in terms of joints and tendons, being the "glue" that holds the body together.

The body's collagen production begins to slow as we age. This natural degenerative process is responsible for signs of aging such as sagging skin and wrinkles, as well as joint pain caused by weaker or decreased cartilage. Women may experience a reduction in collagen synthesis following the menopause. A considerable decline in collagen synthesis by age 60 is normal.

Lifestyle factors such as smoking, a high intake of sugar and high levels of sun exposure also contribute to depleted collagen levels. Studies show that collagen-related diseases most commonly occur due to a combination of genetic defects, nutritional deficiencies, poor intake of collagen-rich foods and digestive issues which affect collagen synthesis.

How Does Collagen Work?

Collagen is secreted by various cells in the body, mainly by connective tissue cells. It is found in the extracellular matrix; an intricate network of macromolecules (a molecule containing a large number of atoms) that determine the physical properties of body tissue.

In the middle layer of the skin (the dermis), collagen helps to form a fibrous network of cells called fibroblasts. New cells are able to grow on this network. Fibroblasts also play a role in replacing and restoring skin cells. Some collagens even act as protection for delicate organs such as the kidneys.
